Reduce Energy Use to Save Money

Purpose

The purpose of the Michigan Dialogue to Reduce Energy Use (MiDRE) is to increase the profitability, competitiveness, and effectiveness of Michigan industry by reducing energy use and associated costs.  By working through the program, Michigan industrial companies will learn more clearly the value of energy savings, and discover technical assistance tools to help them evaluate and reduce energy use.

Educational Email Newsletters

Periodically, the "Reduce Energy Use" electronic newsletter contains:
1) News about energy assessment opportunities and other courses of action,
2) Descriptions of energy saving technologies and/or case study applications,
3) Upcoming energy efficiency related events, such as trainings and meetings,
4) Direct links into the U.S. DOE BestPractices and Industrial Technology Program websites for materials of interest, and

Bulletin Board Website

Central to the program is www.reduce-energy-use.com, an open, interactive, user-content driven website exlusively focused on solutions for reducing industrial energy use.  The website includes links to a full host of national online resources, but also includes spaces for Industrial Energy Managers and Executives to post questions, requests and comments, as well as a space for solution providers to describe themselves and their services, and field questions from potential users.  The value and usefulness of the website grows with every new posting and reply.
