Loch McCabe founded
Shepherd Advisors in 2000 with the belief that the key to a truly
sustainable (and fun!) future is to grow businesses which enhance
our wealth and environment at the same time. Mr. McCabe has been involved in the formation of the
Clean Tech sector from “day one.” In the late ‘80s he helped design
and raise money for commercial and municipal recycling programs.
In the ‘90s, he
built the Environmental Capital Network, which facilitated over $50
million in early-stage investments to Clean Tech companies nationwide.
He has a
knack for recognizing opportunities, developing stories, and working
with others to secure needed resources. He backs up his instincts
and enthusiasm with analysis and due diligence that fosters clearer
thinking and action. At
Shepherd, Mr. McCabe focuses on strategy, market development, and
financing.

David
Haviland brings to Shepherd’s clients his considerable experience in
managing growth operations, developing marketing programs, and
attracting capital. Mr. Haviland is methodical, precise and honest,
and driven by the details, the numbers, and the desire to be
realistic. Over his career, he has raised $5 million of
early-stage investment, launched the European operations of
a U.S. business, managed or advised two dozen start-ups,
and most recently served as President. For Shepherd’s clients,
Mr. Haviland creates comprehensive plans, conducts market
assessments, helps build management, and works with clients to
ensure near-term success.

Collin Garstang brings a wealth of marketing
and sales experience and knowledge to Shepherd Advisors. He
has held domestic and international marketing and sales positions
with General Electric, Gates Energy Products, W.R. Grace,
Raybestos-Manhattan, United Solar Systems, and a Hewlett Packard
reseller. In addition, he has assisted a number of start-up
and second-stage businesses with marketing and sales issues.
He also brings to Shepherd alliances that he built with Market
Results, Inc., Aimattech Consulting and The H R Chally Group for
specific service offerings. His work at Shepherd focuses
on helping clients to throughly understand their customers, markets,
and internal conditions so that they can effectively plan and
execute marketing and sales initiatives.

Ramsey
Zimmerman focuses on Strategic Planning and "Strategic Doing", Clean
Tech deployment, marketing, and market development. He has
guided and facilitated strategic planning sessions and discussions for a variety
of business and non-profit organizations. Throughout his
career, Mr. Zimmerman has researched, planned events around, and
otherwise promoted numerous green building design and construction
strategies, recycling systems, energy efficiency strategies and
alternative energy systems. His work at Shepherd focuses on
finding the most appropriate, effective and beneficial clean
technologies that Shepherd clients can deploy. Mr. Zimmerman
has evaluated and recommended Energy Star products, green roofs,
daylighting, personal HVAC climate control, non-toxic finishes,
distributed generation systems, resilient flooring and wastewater
treatment technologies.

Brad Stouffer
has more than 25 years experience developing and implementing
strategic growth, acquisition, and marketing plans for companies in
the chemicals and alternative energy industries. As a
consultant, he has provided technology acquisition strategy guidance
for high tech companies, including Intel, Cisco, and Medtronic. He spent 15 years at Air Products and Chemicals Inc., where he was Director of Business Development for Intel Corporation, the company’s largest single account. At Sud-Chemie, an international leader in chemicals and materials, he led the formation of corporate strategy and commercialization of alternative energy products in global markets. He was also responsible for Marketing two start-up companies in the distributed hydrogen technology space, where he established routes to early revenue streams, channel partners, and differentiation.

Kari Walworth understands the technologies, policies, and underlying business principles that are key to the successful development, promotion, and adoption of clean tech solutions. Ms. Walworth was an environmental engineer and engineering supervisor with the Ford Motor Company. Her eight-year career at Ford included assignments in the U.S., Europe, India, and China working on technical and policy issues related to reducing the environmental impacts of automotive manufacturing. During the summer of 2004, Ms. Walworth worked with the University of Michigan Tech Transfer Office/Engineering Technology Council (ETC) to evaluate and characterize engineering research activities that had potential for both sustainable systems leadership and technology commercialization.

Shanna Draheim brings to Shepherd Advisors over a decade of experience in environmental management with local, state, and federal government agencies. She has worked with communities and federal facility managers to develop and implement water quality protection, resource conservation, and smart growth plans and programs. Ms. Draheim works with Shepherd clients to support strategic planning initiatives and programs that boost economies, enhance quality of life, increase investment in renewable energy and other sustainable business practices, and create vibrant communities.

Over the past decade, Jerold Zwas has participated with dozens of early-stage technology companies as advisor, investor, investment banker and entrepreneur. Most notably, he provided investment banking services and served as the interim CFO for a fast-growing technology client that grew 800% in two years and was subsequently sold to BAE Systems, Inc. He now focuses his efforts on advisory activity in alternative energy and clean tech, although his broad experience includes automotive, real estate, technology and telecommunications companies. Mr. Zwas has also facilitated efforts for a university tech transfer department and is planning a 2008 kickoff of an angel network seeking alternative energy and clean tech opportunities.

Terri Schroeder focuses on Clean Tech market research and life cycle assessment. Prior to joining Shepherd Advisors, she worked with the Environmental Law and Policy Center researching the financial, social, and environmental implications of alternative energy and clean technology policy in the Midwest. Additionally, Ms. Schroeder was in Ford Motor Company’s Marketing Leadership Program, working with the Mariner Hybrid product communications strategy. Prior to graduate school, Ms. Schroeder worked at Jenner & Block, an AmLaw 100 firm headquartered in Chicago, where she led many initiatives to enhance the firm’s client service and business development activities. Additionally, Terri served as an AmeriCorps member at City Year Detroit.
